Succession Planning

The succession planning process provides the means for the Agency to identify, manage and integrate key positions and key talent in a series of steps that form an ongoing channel of developing resources, matching supply to demand, and evaluating results. The process steps are presented below.

Ensure Strategic Alignment: Understand mission, goals and values.

 

Identify Key Positions: Focal point for succession planning.

 

Identify Key Talent:  Determine where talent is available and how it will be identified.

 

Deploy Key Talent: Assess whether talent can best be identified internally or externally.

 

Continually Assess Effectiveness: Ensure continuity of leadership through succession planning.
